Sentiero del Sarvanot

There is a different kind of time along the Sentiero del Sarvanot — an ancient rhythm that has never quite left these hills. The trail takes its name from the Sarvanot, a mythical figure of Piedmontese folklore — a mischievous yet protective spirit said to watch over mountain pastures and those who respect them. Walking here feels like tuning into a forgotten frequency, where the land itself becomes a storyteller. Classified as difficulty E by the CAI and requiring around five and a half hours to complete, the route rewards hikers with sweeping views across Val Maira that stay with you long after the walk is over. This is one of those rare trails where history, legend, and landscape dissolve into a single, deeply moving experience of the Alpine Piedmont at its most authentic.
