The Sentiero Remo Einaudi is an invitation to slow down and immerse yourself in the most genuine soul of Val Maira. This loop trail, starting and finishing in Acceglio, winds through alpine landscapes of extraordinary beauty: open pastures fragrant with wild herbs, larch and fir forests where light filters through in silence, and sweeping views of the peaks that frame this secluded and precious valley in the Cuneo area. Rated E by the CAI and manageable for moderately experienced hikers, the route takes around five hours at a comfortable pace that encourages you to truly take in your surroundings. Curious marmots, soaring raptors and, in the warmer months, carpets of alpine wildflowers are frequent companions along the way. The trail also carries cultural meaning, dedicated to Remo Einaudi as a tribute to the deep ties between this land and his memory. It is well suited to families with children who already have some mountain experience, and dogs on a leash are warmly welcome. The best time to walk it stretches from late spring through to autumn, when the woodland transforms into a canvas of warm, unforgettable colours.
